Not a fan? Have you read Alain de Botton's "How Proust Can Change Your Life"?
I know that Jane Austen is not everyone's cup of tea. She is one of my favorites and I read/listen to most of her novels every summer. They are perfect for summer reading. I don't need to take my life lessons from her, though.
