I felt saddened by Ted's (I think of him as Ted even though we'd never met) death. I know he was a flawed man (who isn't?)but he always seemed so real. In a world of phony politicians, he wasn't afraid to let the warts show.

The common man lost a champion.

An era ends...I'm very sad about his passing, but I'm glad his pain has ended (brain cancer is terrible).

He made the world a better place and we have that to be grateful for - what a legacy.
(((hugs)))

I too felt a deep saddness at his passing. Public grief - private grief for his family - and an era ends. KnitNana is right - what a legacy.

Who in the senate is capable of stepping up to fill the vital role Ted Kennedy played?

Many of us across the Atlantic, especially my generation for whom the Kennedys signified so much, are saddened by Senator Kennedy's death. By any standards, his is truly remarkable legacy.

Our thoughts are with you all.

Such a great loss. He and his family, despite all their wealth, really cared about the working class.
