I have decided! (edited from please help me decide)

I have a new love.....
She is deep burgundy, with some black-ish overtones, she is soft and companionable as a bunny, and best of all -
SHE'S ALREADY IN MY STASH! My Clapotis shall be Knitpicks Andean Treasure in the embers colorway.

(Am I allowed to swatch before the Knitalong begins? Please?)

What do you think about ArtYarns Supermerino Color 105 for the Second Wave Clapotis? (Maybe next time...)

I think you don't want anything stripey because that will fight with the pattern. Anything speckled or heathery or handpainted that doesn't stripe will look really good.

Yep! It took from yesterday until now to figure out what was holding my email up. Had to have tec fix it. It was my security program causing the the problem. All fixed for now. Talk at ya later. D

What do you think of the color? Clapotis is not really a lace pattern where the design must be seen and any fancy colored yarn would conflict. I thought of the clapotis pattern more as a fun trick to do while knitting. A sort of whee! process knit. ***CV

I like the color but what do you think of the color? Are you in love with it?

I didn't even make one during the first wave. I may have to look into to this second wave a bit more.

Absolutely lovely colors and I don't have a problem with stripes - the variegated yarn I used in my clap is gorgeous, doesn't take anything away from it (JMHO)! In fact, I wanted something varied as clap is a triffle plain by itself (this from a laceknitter, of course) And photos are up on my blog!

I don't know your particular yarn - so can't advise on how floaty it will be (I loved my Fleece Artist Sea Wool as it's soft soft soft and just flips in the breeze - think that's what clapotis means, right? Waves?)
(((hugs)))

Melanie, I will "allow" you to swatch before the official start date, as long as you post a picture of your yarn ... :-)

(You realize I would have no idea if you were swatching or not, right? I'm too busy trying to decide on yarn for mine!)

See, I misread "Second Wave" as meaning this was your second shawl. Sorry. Distracted.

I checked out your yarn in the KnitPicks catalog that came last week! It looks lovely.

I'm really torn about whether or not to join up on this one - I'm already planning a sorta large project to start in Oct. (AGG-KAL) and I'm not sure I want more then one big thing on the needles.

But I haven't knit the Clapotis yet.....

No. Swatching is not cheating. In stash yarn? Is that allowed? who knew?

I just love that yarn it is so squishy soft; perfect for hugging!
The color sounds luscious!
