pay it forward exchange

I just signed up for the Pay It Forward exchange at Paula's blog, The Basset Knitter. She saw it first at BarknKnit, the blog of a brand new knitter, who saw it at Plain Jane Creations....

Here's how it works:

I will send a handmade gift to 3 random people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this Pay It Forward exchange. I don’t know what that gift will be yet and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week, but you will receive it within 365 days, that is my promise! The only thing you have to do if you like, is in return, pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog.

Lovely, isn't it? Leave a message...

That's a great idea. I'll have to give it some thought & decide if I can join. I'm starting to get nervous about time with the kids school coming up and the kitchen not yet finished. :(

my whole life is because of a "pay it forward". my parents knew eachother 3 days when they gopt married at 16 and 17. everyone was against them. the one that stands out....
he had joined the military and she needed a couple hundred dollars so that she could go be with him, some one...not a family member (because they were all hoping it would be a failed marriage) gave it to her, refused to be paid back, and said to help some one out in the future.
b/c of that moment they stayed married, had 2 kids and have been married 34 yrs this month. they have always helped others out. dad has a saying when people try to refuse his offers "don't rob me of my blessing". he believes his reward for helping others is far greater than they could ever pay back.
so i would like to join.
