Razor shell lace for Wuthering Heights

Let me say one thing: I loathe circular needles. LOATHE them. I started this shawl on circs, dropped and mangled stitches for 2 weeks, and finally decided to use straight, plastic, crummy needles. Voila! What a difference!

I still haven't gotten too far. If you look closely, you'll see a mistake. But I'm making better lace progress than I ever did before. Baby steps, right? Baby steps.

Aren't personal preferences amazing? I love circular needles. I can barely knit with straight ones. The weight seems odd.

Ah, I had to look very closely to find the mistake. It looks great, Melanie. I love the colorway.

LOVE the colors! Can't wait to see what it looks like when you finish.

Knitting has SO many options that you really do have to find what "works" for you. Geeze, doesn't it make you feel bad for those ancient knitters working with bird bones, or twigs, or what ever else they used! :-)

It looks great!

You must be an English knitter. I am a continental knitter and I am the opposite. I almost never use straight needles. I can't stand the "flapping".

Love the pattern and the colors!

Rome wasn't built in a day... all in due time, girlie. And if you didn't say there was a mistake, I certainly wouldn't have found it by myself:)

It's lovely!

I love the color you choose! I actually love circulars myself... straight needles feel awkward to me...

Ah, it's you I was dissing straight needles to. Gues what I'm using now? Quite comfortably too, I might add.

I really dropped by to see if you know Christine's Mirabilis Blog. She had something in there awhile back about the Mrs Beeton biography and she finds all sorts of literary, archeological, historical and scientific articles.

Yes, baby steps. I love the way it looks, though. Colors are lovely, too.

Thats something I must remind myself of daily. :)

Lovely colors, that's going to be a very pretty shawl...and if you're happier with straights, so be it! Do what works best for you...

btw...where did you find a post card with the steps of Montmartre? I'd love to find one, myself!
(((hugs)))
