Earth Day 2009 : things we need today

Earth Day, 2009.

knit.
green.
poem.
friend.
hope.

(my original rant here was just that - a rant - and I decided we don't need a rant today.)

rain.
rabbit.
community.
compassion.
grace.

I won't tell you you're over-reacting. Those photos show a small minority of the country who are equally scared by what they see as ultra liberalism.

I agree with you that people usually do what is in their own best self-interest. I alway hope they'll see that their best self-interest is what's good for the world...And I'm idealistic enough to hope that some of our 60s values have hung on. But remember the 60s? My parents thought we hippies were going to run the country into the ground and thought we were terrible for protesting the war - and many of the hippies DID treat the veterans poorly when they returned and I hope we've all learned from that!

I'll say this - I laughed out loud over the one photo that was totally contradictory? "The RICH *f****d* America $$"

Well, who ARE the Rich? Umm...

(Did you read the HP article about McClain's daughter? There's hope if she's in the Republican party!)
