Sock progress

My sock library:

Knit socks
Sensational knitted socks
More sensational knitted socks
I can't believe I'm knitting socks
Knitting on the road

Am I missing anything essential?

The first sock knitting book I bought was "Folk Socks" by Nancy Bush; I don't know that it's a necessity to own it, but I enjoyed reading it, and I do refer to it now and then ...

Not as far as I'm concerned! If you have the first Schurch book then you are good to go.

Since all of mine are toe-up, I presume you've gotten all the online sources for those printed out? Not a book, but sorta!
(((hugs)))

No idea - I rely on the kindness of friends and more-or-less strangers for sock direction, and I'm still only at the toe. I have stalled for other projects (Can you imagine? Me with more than one project going?) Brava, baby:)!

Those books and online resources will keep you busy for quite a while! There are so many great options in technique and style.

My Favorite sock knitting books are:
"Socks Socks Socks"
"Folk Socks"
"Knitting Vintage Socks"
and I just received a great brand new book in the mail called "Favorite Socks" a collection from interweave press.
It is a wonderful addition to my library.
(I love the smell new books)

P.S. and I forgot to mention that any book by Schurch and Bush is fantastic!

Looks like your doing good. Let me know if any of the books mention how to avoid getting those little holes in the side of the sock. I always get one little one where the bottom meets the top. Right in that little crevice.
After I've picked up the stitches and I've continued knitting across the top of the sock. I hate that little hole!

I'd add Knitting Vintage Socks and Folk Socks too, plus the new Interweave collection - but probably only after you've mastered your first pair and really want to commit to sock knitting (which I'm sure you will!) - you've got a lot of great books already!

I agreee with a few of those above: Sock, Socks, Socks is essential! It's the one I keep going back to...
