Project Spectrum - Grey

Irish Hiking 1
Cables aren't that bad after all... The first colors for Project Spectrum are blue, white, and grey. Here is the beginning of grey in the Irish Hiking Scarf. I'm using KnitPicks Merino Style, one of my favorite yarns, and I'm enjoying the knit.

I've also discovered the pleasure of audio books. Many friends (
Janet!!) have been encouraging me to try them, and I've been resistant. This week, I checked out the library's audio copy of To Kill a Mockingbird (read by Sissy Spacek) and started to listen to it in the car. What a revelation - I never would have been as immersed in the story and the characters had I not heard it in her gentle, slightly-accented voice and its Southern, slow pace. (I'm a manic New Yorker - my inner reading voice does not adjust...)

The cables look great! Someday I will start an Irish Hiking Scarf. I even have the yarn already.

Welcome to the world of audiobooks! I never thought I'd enjoy them as much as I do. And the reader does make a world of difference, too.

Lovely!!!

I haven't done cables in so long... I'm sure mine would be a mess:)

Wow! Those are lovely cables...and I'm glad you could adjust to the books on tape, I must need to try another "voice" to hear it in...the British lady who read Mrs. Dalloway could not hold my attention at all...

(((hugs)))

I knew you could do cables! The scarf looks great.

I agree with the others, the reader of any audio book makes all of the difference ...

Heh -- it's funny that you should mention audiobooks. I've been trying to get myself to listen to them too -- I can knit and read at the same time, but it's not convenient (or comfortable) and so I just don't do it. I've been "practicing" with podcasts and that's been going well, so I think it's time to find an audiobook at the library and give that a whirl.

The scarf is looking great! The Irish Hiking Scarf is in my queue...

I really like the audio books too when the reader reflects the dialogue in the book. Sometimes you can find an audio book with many readers and it is like an old radio show! Those are far a few between, but oh what a fun when you do discover them!
Your Irish Hiking scarf looks so nice!

I got the Spacek "To Kill A Mockingbird" for Christmas --- it is wonderful, isn't it? She's my favorite actress anyway, but how do you go wrong with those words?

Audiobooks do depend on the voice of the reader, don't they? Scarf looks fantastic:)! I learned to cable on Sunday, 4 Feb 2007. I should write that down somewhere...:)
