Last night, John asked me if I miss "I, Claudius." Not only do I miss watching the series, but I miss being in the company of Claudius. I've enjoyed being in the company of characters before -- Klaatu in "The Day the Earth Stood Still" comes to mind -- and it strikes me that the characters I love most are the ones whose intellect is tempered by the type of heart that develops from being an outsider who chooses to be compassionate instead of bitter. Role models?
